Happy fall, folks! I don’t know if it’s a side effect of one too many pumpkin spice lattes, but I’m falling in love with this season– I am loving the cold, crisp mornings, and the beautiful colors in the trees all over town. I’ve also become obsessed with using my jewelry saw again, a tool I haven’t employed since high school, and my mind has been running with ideas for pendants and earrings. Not having used a jewelry saw in almost ten years, I was a bit hesitant to start this whole project, but I am so so so pleased with how it turned out. I decided to take a photo of each step of the process to try and commemorate what I so dearly love about jewelry making– watching a piece of material shift and shape into something totally new. It’s a cool reminder of how God molds us into these beautiful stories He has written for our lives, if we are willing to let Him grow and change us…
Add some hammer hits, a turquoise bead, and a leather cord, and you’ve got yourself an autumnal necklace! I hope you’re enjoying the turn in seasons, wherever you are!
